QA as a service and my love for things as a service
After a decade in the IT industry, once I decided to venture on my own I started needing a few things. I needed a professional space for my emails, files, etc. I went ahead and got myself a Microsoft 365 subscription that costs about $6 a month. Is it expensive or cheap? I am not sure, but it saved me from writing email software and hosting it 24*7 globally.
Call me lazy, but I like it when things come as a service, especially with a nice trial. I needed a website hosted and I subscribed to Webflow. I needed a bank account so I used Revolut Business and phew.. it saved me from having to create my own digital bank.
Quality as a service and the lack of it
Why am I telling you all this? Well, one thing that strikes me is that I am not able to find great services in something that I love and that is Quality Assurance.
Amazing quality engineers usually automate everything and yet not everything has been automated yet. It is still a sweet combination between automation and manual that gets testing done. I mean yeah, you automate web page visits, grab a bunch of elements and verify things are good, but can you really close your eyes and just trust the automation? Again, not yet.
But where are these great subscription services for quality assurance? For a few that I found, where is the transparent pricing? Where is that ease of subscribing and where is that trial?
I said enough and since I skipped building an email program of my own and compromised for $6 a month I cannot compromise with QA as a Service for my quality assurance needs.
